Sending the Love!
Thank you! For every one of our dear friends, family & supporters who have ever sent us a piece of mail, thank you so much!
Since we returned to PNG in August last year, the post hasn’t really been working. We have had a few items come through, a Christmas card in March, a Birthday card for Shiv in February (Her birthday is in early December), but we told many people not to send post because all international travel, even for letters, is very unpredictable at the moment. If fact, as I’m writing this, we are still waiting for a package of luxury items, like nice tea & chocolate, to arrive from Shiv’s parents. They posted the package in early January, so let’s see f it comes in time for Christmas…
Recently, I (Shiv) was clearing out my desk draw and found some cards, letters, pictures and encouraging notes which some of you have sent me or us, over the past 7 years. As I looked at the pictures and re-read the notes, it was like I was getting hugged by each of you again. Thank you so much! In this day-and-age of digital media, it is rare to receive something personal in the mail (Bank statements do not elicit the same emotional response!), it is even more rare when you live on the other side of the world and a first class stamp just won’t do the trick.
As much as I miss mail, I would still advise to not send us post this year, but I just wanted to say a really warm & heartfelt thank you to all of you who have made the effort to go the extra mile in the past, it really made the distance between us feel less! Thank you and God bless.
